The kids and I came down first thing Saturday morning and Terah came right after work. It made sense for us to come early to get the boat ready to go out for fireworks and to have dinner ready. Plus, we upgraded our bed (bye bye super squeaky friend) and bought bunk beds for the kids. Getting there early allowed me to to get some stuff items set up before Terah’s arrival.
Allie and Chris were throwing a party at their place, so they will join up on Sunday.
This was the first fireworks we’ve seen from the pontoon in many years. And it was great! You can’t beat those reflections off the water
Day two (Sunday) was boat time. Even Grandpa joined us! After a quick tour around the lake, we settled in for sandwiches and floats at the sandbar.
Later, Allie and Chris arrived. Also Ken, Judy, and Dave came to visit Grandma and Grandpa while Lizzy, Greg and Veda came to hang with us.
Harper absolutely rocked the paddle board. Later, we did some vortex chicken wings and cheeseburgers. The kids got in a quick (and messiest I’ve ever seen) marshmallow before bed. Then the grown ups settled in for a late night fire.
Finally, the 4th fell on a Monday.
It was an absolute washout, but we made some major progress getting the garage sleeping room cleaned out and bunk beds assembled. I wish we could have been on the water, but at least the day was productive.
